In a bold collaboration with Mother Nature, we grow our own varieties of aroma hops at Rogue Farms in Independence, OR. We also string, stake, train, test, trim, separate, sort, kiln and cool them. Brewmaster John Maier meticulously selected and blended 4 varieties of our aroma hops to create the approachable and aromatic signature of our 4 Hop IPA.
Abita Root Beer is made with a hot mix process using spring water, herbs, vanilla and yucca (which creates foam). Unlike most soft drink manufacturers, Abita sweetens its root beer with pure Louisiana cane sugar. The resulting taste is reminiscent of soft drinks made in the 1940s and 1950s, before bottlers turned to corn sugar and fructose. Some soft drink makers add caffeine to their product, but Abita is naturally caffeine-free.
Named for the brightest star in the Southern Cross constellation, Alpha Crucis takes full advantage of one of New Zealand’s best hops – Southern Cross. A lighter malt bill allows these late-addition hops to shine bright with pine, resin and a slight lemon character, balanced by a clean, dry finish.
Special treatment of our Alpha Crucis IPA. While it may seem blasphemous to mess with a glorious beer like Alpha Crucis, we knew the addition of grilled pineapple and habanero pepper would create something unique and special. Dry and hoppy citrus meets sweet and smoky heat in a swirling cloud of spectacular flavor.
Ashley Farmhouse – 6.1 % ABV
A dry Belgian-style saison. Hazy golden hue in the traditional farmhouse brewing style. Yeast-driven fruit and tartness with mild spiciness from the flaked rye and ginger in the background. Lightly hoppy with a slight bitter finish from the bitter orange peel. Easy drinking. Great for pairing with Lowcountry cuisine, especially seafood and fried foods. The Ashley Farmhouse reflects the tradition of rustic, farmhouse brewing that inspires Freehouse Brewery today, and is named for the Ashley River where the brewery is located.
Ingredients: Organic malted barley, organic flaked rye, organic spices, organic hops, Farmhouse ale yeast.
Avance is brewed with molasses and four different yeast strains, then aged in oak bourbon barrels for a year with lactobacillus and pediococcus. We then transfer the beer to stainless and add one pound per gallon of fresh, locally picked strawberries and age it for another six months. This strong, sour ale has the aroma of strawberry preserves and toasted oak. Oak and berries continue in the flavor, concluding with a warm, sweet finish.
Notes of vanilla, oak, coconut, chocolate, and bourbon.

I awake from a slumber that’s been anything but peaceful. I don’t take kindly to idling and I am anything but neutral. Life has nothing to do with killing time, and the knowledge that months have passed since the onset of my sequestering in this pitch-black oaken tomb (albeit a barrel flush with brilliant aromas of vanilla and char) does not sit well. But then comes a tingle followed by rejuvenating warmth, signs that something is different…something has changed…and for the better.
I feel stronger yet somehow more nimble and refined. I feel even more self-assured, and my vision for what is good and right, honest and true, is as laser-sharp as the brawny, bawdy, liquid Arrogance that shall further advance my battle against all things mediocre and geared toward the lowest common denominator. I have been born anew and, in the process, anointed with vibrant, inspiring, previously unexperienced character, all while maintaining everything I am and have always been—bold, bullish, unadulterated, and yes, Arrogant.
Are you Worthy of quaffing a beverage of this intensity, irreverence and quality craftsmanship? Not likely, but for those who “get it,” I know my time in this bourbon barrel has not been wasted. Cheers to you, enlightened imbiber. On second thought, cheers to me!
Brand New Eyes – 5.5 % ABV
Table Saison traditionally inspired. Blended through red wine puncheons
The Bridge Burner pours a deep, fiery amber with a rocky off-white head. The assertive aroma is dominated by dry, earthy American hops: citrus, floral and pine tree notes all make a showing. The hops dominate, lending a hefty bitterness to the palate, but are backed up by the caramel malts, which lend a substantial body without any extra sweetness. A warm alcohol burn finishes it off with a nod to its considerable 8.5% ABV. 2009 Los Angeles County Fair gold medal barley wine winner.

Bourbon Barrel Aged Doppleback
Inspired by the energy and audacity of the fixed gear courier, Lakefront Brewery ran smack into this arresting creation. Fixed Gear is a big, bold American red IPA. It pours a glaring crimson tone with a rocky white head and a brilliant floral-citrus aroma, thanks to an aggressive dry hopping. Its immodest, malty spine and intrepid caramel flavors blow in via gratuitous amounts of 2-row pale and dark caramel malts. A balanced citrus bite comes from Chinook and Cascade hops followed shortly by mild, fruity esters from the ale yeast. Weighing in at a mean 6.8% ABV and 54 IBU’s, this one’s got an attitude.
Originally, this intensely hopped ale was brewed in the 18th century to survive the long sea journey from the cooler breweries in England, around the Cape of Africa to India where the temperatures were too warm to brew. This beer has a unique floral aroma from the generous addition of Cascade hops to the fermenter in a procedure known as dry hopping.

The Duck-Rabbit Milk Stout is a traditional full-bodied stout brewed with lactose (milk sugar). Because lactose is unfermentable by brewer’s yeast, it remains in the beer. The subtle sweetness and fullness of flavor imparted by this sugar balances the sharpness of the highly roasted grains that give this delicious beer its black color. All year long, Milk Stout is our number one selling beer!

The versatility of the hop’s pleasing aroma and flavor characteristics and the traditional barley’s depth of flavor comprise this clean, rich, golden beer. Our brewers work hard in a physically demanding job but beer lovers like to say that we’re “Living the Dream”, a myth popularized in today’s craft beer culture. Our favorite way to make the myth a reality is by creating beer styles that we haven’t made before. Hence “Myth Perpetuator”, a super-hoppy Double IPA with a huge emphasis on west coast hop varieties.

Bell’s Two Hearted Ale is defined by its intense hop aroma and malt balance. Hopped exclusively with the Centennial hop varietal from the Pacific Northwest, massive additions in the kettle and again in the fermenter lend their characteristic grapefruit and pine resin aromas. A significant malt body balances this hop presence; together with the signature fruity aromas of Bell’s house yeast, this leads to a remarkably drinkable American-style India Pale Ale.
